The Garden is active and alive and enjoys daily visits all year long on foot, by bike or skate, with strollers and dogs. We have been the site of weddings and birthday parties. We have hosted small concerts, holiday celebrations with the lighting of the Garden and carol sing-a-long, and participated in National Cancer Survivor’s Day.
The Garden has also hosted various fundraisers over the years. Our annual fundraiser the Garden Golf Classic has always been a great time for us to get together with supporters and survivors at the Boonsboro Country Club to raise money and awareness for the Garden.
The proceeds from our Fundraisers and from the sale of bricks and other naming opportunities allow the Awareness Garden to uphold their mission.
THE GOLF CLASSIC
Thank you to the volunteers, golfers and sponsors who made the 2017 Golf Classic a success! Mark your calendars now for next year’s tournament: Monday, October 1, 2018.
The Golf Classic is be a celebration of the Garden and its mission. Since 2003, the Garden space has been a sanctuary for individuals who have faced cancer, and those who have lost a loved one to it. In addition, the Garden has provided community education to reduce cancer in our lives, and, to date, has awarded over $83,450 to students whose lives have been affected by this disease or who wish to pursue careers related to it. As we tackle the next decade of continued service, join us to celebrate Lalla Hancock Sydnor’s vision to plant the seeds of awareness!

Twice a year in the Spring and Fall we hold Brick Dedication Ceremonies. It is at this time we formally recognize those being honored in the Garden. This event in particular, is a very personal and special tribute for those receiving and those giving bricks and other naming opportunities.
We also take the time during our Spring Brick dedication to honor those who have been chosen as Awareness Garden Foundation Scholarship winners. Whether you are dedicating a brick or not, please feel free to join us and take part in this very special event at the Garden.
The deadline to place brick orders for the Spring Dedication is March 1. If you would like to order a brick, please visit the Order section of our website to download the Brick Order form or use our online ordering system.
